Rene Transport Ltd. was founded to provide tractor service for Canadian Tire in Western Canada. Yves Rene began as a company driver for Canadian Tire Corporation and became an Owner Operator in 1989. In order to meet Canadian Tire’s demands, the company grew to 3 highway tractors and was incorporated in 1995.
Rene Transport added a Calgary shunt operation in late 2001, a turnpike operation in 2002 and expanded to a fleet of 10 tractor units by 2003.
Due to a vibrant economy, the following years were marked by steady fleet size increases and additional client acquisitions. In June of 2015, we opened our new headquarters in Nisku, AB. Built from the ground up and designed to meet our exact needs, this 8 acre facility includes 5000 square feet of office space, 9000 square feet of warehousing space and an 8000 square foot mechanics shop complete with a drive-through wash bay.
Rene Transport now includes a fleet of over 50 tractor units, in addition to numerous shunt trucks, chassis/trailers, dry vans, reefers and flat decks. Services offered by the company now include truckload service, shunting, warehousing, truck/trailer service and repair, as well as heavy duty towing.
